Absolutely there is. I ran a lot of engines over the years. Square stroke engines are so smooth and linear.
I can drive better when I have more control over my buggy. A smooth power band makes this much easier.
The rolling was not ballistic compared the the mantra but it did have more wheel spin and required easier throttle inputs.
Of course it did have more power everywhere. I mainly bought it for when I go to a larger track or when I want a bigger smile on my face.
