This car would be better with metal shock caps for the heave damper. With my heavy hands I have stripped a few of the plastic shock caps on the heave damper (my fault). Every hIgh end rc car has metal shockbodies and metal shock caps or offers them as an option. With only two small shocks instead of 4 large ones much more load is placed on these tiny shocks even if they are built correctly with the right oil. Getting the shocks to work consistently has been my struggle. As interest switches over to mid motor cars this car still has potential.
Sadly, I don’t know what the future of the 4X holds. Ever since it’s release, the only car I’ve seen team drivers running is the X20, so personally, I would say that any further development is up in the air. It’s a shame too, because I really liked the approach behind the design and it’s goal of super low CG.
