kenmend - i too had problems with the 58T spur. The problem seems to be the Team Associated bearings. I replaced with Duratrax 8x12 bearing (DTXC1581) and have had no issue with the 58T for past couple of weeks. Regarding the discontinued 70T, it seems to be included in Team Associated part #21527 - 1:14 Drive Gear Set (contains both 58T and 70T along with ring and pinion gears.
