Hello All,
Got to do some good running.....I have to say that after not running for two months proved to be frustrating, I was helpless on Saturday but then on Sunday morning I just tried to be slow and consistent and things finally started improving. I have a ways to go but at least I am showing improvement.
One of the biggest frustrations I had was my Stock Car which is set up at 94mm and running a 575GTC body. I love how this body looks and I also really enjoy driving it but it does not play well with the armcos so you have to be clean. I was able to run really fast laps (Sub 4s) but it was very inconsistent and had no turning on throttle. The front tires had A LOT of miles on them and they were like a ribbon on the wheels so I decided to swap in some new PN KS Med Fronts of the stock wheels. On the first turn at speed with the new tires it traction rolled hard. I drove it more and it now had to much steering. I swapped over to a new pair of KS Firm Fronts on some Atomic 19.5mm 1.5mm wheels and that was better, I could still traction roll if I was not careful but it was noticeably better and with a couple small changes just got easier to drive. This morning I just started to turn some hot laps and I was doing alright so I kept going for the 75 laps and ended up with my first posted time.....the cells were pretty much flat at the end of this run but the car was feeling good. I am going to make another attempt at lunch to see what I can do because there is plenty of time I can make up.
The biggest surprise was my Pro Stock car. The last time I ran it I had a hard time taming it but yesterday it felt great and consistent. My run was far from a perfect run but the car felt good and was doing what I wanted, now it is just up to me to get a good stint in.
I just started running my GLR yesterday afternoon. I forget just how well this car runs, it is just quiet and fast. I have not gone the distance yet but I did pull out a 3.86s lap and linked together a good 5 laps at under 4s per lap. I need to put some time in on this car and see what I can do.
Cheers,
Jim
I'll be waiting for that glr time I just posted mine and it's a sub 5 min run quickest i have had to date with any of my cars
