What difference are you speaking of Billy? Is it anything like when I took the Tamiya gears out of my FF-03 and installed standard 48 pitch gears? The car is noticably quicker than a friend's stock FF-03. The FDR in both cars is extremely close.
gearing was a challenge when I first tried racing. I’d just never had any reason to mess with it before. Look at a gearing chart for both 48 and 64p. Between them there at least a dozen ways to get the same FDR. When I’d ask other what they ran, they’d give the FDR but not the gear combination. I started with 48p. But found motor was peaked 20-30 feet into a 70 foot straight. Tried a number of combinations for 48p. But none really improved much. So I switched. Think I cut 3 second a lap that weekend. I’d have to go back to my race videos to see what gear combination used
