I do not know why you post your complain here. If you did get new stuf you should already have a RC4(-hybrid) transponder.
And regarding the software update, that is not the reason why tracks are closing. It may not be a friendly step of Mylaps but on the other hand drivers had enough chances to exchange their old and even non AMD transponders for an original RC4 for a special price.
Regarding a downgrade, I think that must always be possible if you have the HEX file, open the machine and program it directly on the processor through the onboard communication port.
