So, I got my ERevo running again, put metal gears in the stock servos since they had some an hour away, got 2 runs in before it broke again, sent all the electronics in to traxxas and they're replacing them. Let's hope I have better luck going forward. This thing still blows my mind!
I'm dreaming of modding my son's teton to take a single 3s battery, I could make it work if I move the electronics to the battery tray and put the battery on the top, that way we could all use the same batteries, I'd have to replace the motor and ESC first, Which is going to cost more than the car did in the first place. Then, of course, I'm going to have to replace almost everything in the drive line to handle that power, is there a quick and dirty list of straight plastic to steel upgrade parts for something like the teton? Or is it too low a level of car for parts like that to be easily available? Is there a 1/16 th 3s car that will take these giant batteries (5000 mah traxxas 3s) I see there is an ERevo 1/16 that will take 3s, but it takes the smaller ones and mine won't fit. it sounds like madness, but maybe I'm better off just getting a second full size ERevo swapping in the metal gears and running his in "Training mode"
Any ideas?
It seems silly to sink money into the tetons when all their parts feel like they're made of milk bottle plastic.
