The whole point of the spec motor is to tighten the field and reduce cost. If the spec is cheap, most people will buy in cus they don't feel obligated to spend $200 on a full on motor just to keep up. Of course the guys who drive well and don't make mistakes will win, but the disparity of speed as it stands now between cheap motors and expensive ones is huge! Taking that variable away will only highlight clean lines and force everyone to drive better. Practice doesn't empty your pocket like motor of the month scenario and everyone benefits if we all drive better and fun goes up! Isn't that the goal?
