The VXL system is ok. For most it works fine an holds up. I’ve got 8/9 year old cars that still use it. On 3s heat tends to be a problem. The heavy Traxxas bodies don’t let air in as easy as standard touring car bodies.
I will always run 3S, but I made touring car bodies for mine, so it shouldn't be a huge problem.
I also bought a heat-sink and fan for the motor, so hopefully that helps.
