I run the direct drive on carpet with several motors. For the r1 motor I run 69/29 while with a motiv or team powers I run 72/27 if that gives you a good starting point. Ive heard that the tekin gears lower but it should be based on the size of the track as well. Hope this helps.

Really depends on the motor. For 17.5 I run 69/29 and my buddy runs 69/27. Our motors are different but our speeds are the same. His is single stack, mine is not.
