i just ordered the x-factor 5% 17.5 and a 21.5 monster max. can someone please help with a gearing starting point on these motors. lots of s-plus guys at my track but not too many trinity.
I have a 21.5 Monster Max in my B6.1d and for the last track configuration at SDRC I was at 72/30, 40deg timing, with a plastic pinion, and slipper. I would say it is conservative, with a fan it runs cool, without it would maybe hit 130 on a 7min run.
I have not been on the track with the new layout yet an there is a full straight away now, so you might want a little more aggressive gearing.. also maybe another tooth on the pinion if you delete the slipper.
