Tekin has stated in the past that the T8 motors can withstand occasionally hitting 115°C (240°F), so making sure the can doesn't exceed 100°C leaves room for temperature variation within the motor.
I didn't know this. My motor never saw anything above 74°C. But I was a little concerned because I only drive 10 mins practice heats on hot days. Next weekend there is the nationals and they predicts temps up to 36°C in the afternoon, so I'm guessing my motor will be close to 80°C after a 10min main. I don't think I will ever hit 100°C.
