100°C on the outside of the can. Take several measurements from one end of the motor to the other and go with the hottest temp you see. The data logging should roughly match the can, but its only taking the temp at one end of the motor and the circuit board it is on can insulate it a bit from quick temperature changes in the windings. Check the data logging graph to see if the motor temp levels off after 5-8 minutes or if it keeps climbing the entire run. That's more what I like to use the data logging for. You should see the temps quickly climb the first 2-4 minutes, start to level off between 3 and 8 minutes, and then stay fairly constant the rest of the run.

Tekin has stated in the past that the T8 motors can withstand occasionally hitting 115°C (240°F), so making sure the can doesn't exceed 100°C leaves room for temperature variation within the motor.
