I have not raced (yet) at Backyard but I do not see a DD car the way to go. They are for high bite foam tire racing. Usually indoor tracks.
I would look at a conversion sprint. There are several out there. Five Seven Designs Paradigm, Bodies by Ed, Plan B Racing, ERC just to name a few. I have a Paradigm and ran it the first time last week and liked it a lot. For a Street Stock, I am not sure they would allow a Custom Works Car. Most use a buggy chassis. Check the rules and what the fast guys are running at the tracks you intend on racing at.
