I've never had an issue with gear mesh and all I've ever ran in my buggy were Novas. As mentioned earlier are you using the serpent clutch bell? The bells were designed with the understanding that the motor mount doesn't move.
Also which version of the kit are you running? I know it was a running change on the evo to move the motor slightly closer to improve gear mesh but were talking only 1mm at most.
I bought the srx8 non Evo from a fellow racer. Clutch and spur are per spec and genuine serpent and correct part numbers. Like I said, most will be ok but occasionally the outside casing of an engine is not perfectly aligned with its internals and this is what happens when you have a non adjustable mesh.
