If your serious and you want to show it to the local racers.... You could rent a timing system from another track and have a couple "bigger" races once/ twice a month. The racers will take your labor and hard work much more serious as you have invested in the proper gear. (PS no one will show up if they cant use their real mylaps transponders.... Just my $0.02.)

But in the end..... Yes thats all it takes to start a track. Some dirt and ambition. (lots of ambition)
