Default On demand racing course

Hello all,

Is it crazy to try and build my own course close to home? The way I figure it, I could buy a few hundred feet of this corrugated pipe, use some staple stakes or similar to fix it to the ground and and buy a lapmonitor for tracking times. Over time, I could build a few platforms and jumps as well as find sloped terrain to make it more interesting.

This would allow me to setup a race course "on demand" and race close to home. I would use city/country/state parks and fields. After a few hours of racing, I could pick it all up and take it all home until the next time. Am I deluding myself or simplifying things too much?

I expect the terrain would largely be grass or clay (baseball fields).
