As Picco have changed their way of casting it will be more expensive now to do changes, the previous engines could be adapted more easily. But maybe it's cheaper in the long run.
But apart from the manufacturing they also need to invest, and pay for marketing etc. By spending say the same amount of money on marketing as they did to make the product they might be able to double the profit, at our expense.
