As a noob to USGT and any touring car in general (I raced stadium trucks in the early 2000s and have been out of the loop since then) what are some important things I should know? Dman18T already gave you some excellent advice and I'll add a couple of things. First off, the MX-V transmitter is excellent. That will serve you well. As far as speed controls, I would recommend a Hobbywing Justock XR10 that costs around $50 new. Maybe $30 used. And buy a 30mm fan for the motor. My 21.5 motor runs around 145F with a fan, and this weekend the fan broke and it ran around 185F, which is close to being too hot. A cheap 30mm fan should be around $10, and solder it directly to the battery leads on the ESC. That way it runs at full voltage. Good luck and have fun.
