That doesn't sound right at all. I run 13.5t at either 78/28 or 78/29 with a fan shroud and even in Australian summer 90-105 degrees Fahrenheit motor temps are 135 - 140 after a 5 minute run.
Sounds like you are running your gear mesh too tight to me? Only say that as I find the xb4 is really sensitive to mesh. I once had mine slightly too tight and my temps went through the roof. It also tightens as you screw it down so it's hard to get right.
