Yes, we cut the inner & outer lip off the wheel and mount the bead of the tire out to the edge. This flattens the tire and give a better feel on the track and better wear.

personally the greens seemed to work pretty well in comparison (Carpet racing here sauced with SXT 3.0 due to tire limitations) and didn't wear as fast.
