I dont think any Programming is going to change the power consumption.
I got a "New" receiver, and had to use a capacitor as well. I am only using JR 4735/4750 servos. But using QC1/2 speedos.
I doubt you will see any difference after sending them in. Why waste the time when a $5 cap does the trick?
It just works out that some speedos just don't supplly enough current to run all the stuff. Keep in mind the receiver is also a transmitter (transceiver), and completing more sophisticated conversion of the digital to analog signal. (No conversion in regualr FM)
