I'm guessing it has more to do with the height that the torque is applied to the wheel. Take for example a higher rear diff in realtion to CG height, under acceleration you would see less of a tendancy to raise the front of the car, but under breaking it would have more leverage to pitch the nose down. Just my thoughts, not sure if these are the most dominant physics that this change will see.
