The gap will lessen, but will not really equal a modern car that is much lighter (and can put weights where needed for better balance) and stiffer parts. Xray diff is 17grms, no old cheap car can overcome that.
No point running a cheap chassis if the servo alone is more expensive than the chassis. Upgrade! hahaha
