The Pulsing technique to me is weird. Having flown helicopters, being smooth is best. Most guys that have always been racing 1:8 on-road, and that are not coming from an Electric back ground as Masaami and Naoto, use the smoother throttle technique. This is based off having raced in Germany and Italy, I know some guys do in in 1:8 buggy using it as a sort of traction control.

Yes they both occasionally blip the throttle, but that is not their throttle style, just in between corners occasionally.
