Once I was invited to run on an offroad track day. With offroad racing pulsing gas in the corners is done a lot. I did get a loan car and drove it with a smooth onroad style w/o any throttle pulses.I could drive the same laptimes as others on my 1st experience driving a buggy on an offroad track. I think the pulses is something related to an old style driving from a time engines were not that relyable.
I also think the throttle pulses in the opening vid is to prevent the engine to go rich. Letting the car roll into a corner with the engine idle will give a more rich pick up going out of a corner which does not give that punch you want. With most engines you can go lean on the LSN taking away that rich moment but the risk going that lean is that the engine can get a shortage on some moments causing some cogging.
