Hey guys, I am beginning to push my 4-tec into VTA duty.

In reading this thread it confuses me to see the gearing where it is.
I have an old, used Novak ballistic 25.5, HW ESC. I should be rules compliant now.
On my last testing session I tried the 35/55 gearing as that was what I had. I planned on picking up a few more pinions and cutting into the gear cover as needed.
Turns out I was getting the motor really hot with that gearing.
I have swapped to a 35/62 and am curious how that works.
64P gears would be nice.
Turns out, my motor timing was turned all the way up past 45'. I havent had a motor with timing before and didnt even look at it when I put it in. I turned the timing back down and now everything runs cool. Still short on gearing though.
