FWIW, if you are going to invest into a soldering station, I found it best to just get something around the 70-80W range which can cover just about any RC need you could ever have... I did these:

You do want to make sure you have different tips. Most irons in this range come with a tip used for tiny electronics which won't work well for most RC applications.
