With alum shoes iv had so many springs break, guess its the transfer of heat or after while they rub on clutch bell... alum shoes need to be deburred every so often like every gallon or less....
i put hpi molded shoes and love the throttle responce more and no more broken springs, i think they are teflon or somthing, not sure why but i liked them more...

maybe i just had bad experience with cheap and bad alum shoes ...

there are alum shoes with hole in them that the spring tab goes in i think those would be the best, no edge that can rub on the clutch bell and cause any failure...
