If one is looking to go "full scale" on their F1 race body, then stick to a Tamiya body. Tamiya is a model company and scale is what they are all about. I am currently running the Tamiya 2017 body and wing set on my Tamiya F1 that I only race at TCS races. Why, because it is not competitive enough in open F1 racing. For open F1, I run a Roche F1-16 with the new Protoform F26 body. For performance, it is fantastic. The scoop nose gives more steering, the side pods more rear downforce and I love how the back is designed so you don't have to cut off the whole back of the car to fit. I am also running a fan under the full rear body work. If you want to compare the F26 Protoform body, compare it to the other "pure race" bodies like Montech, Bitty, etc. and then decide which ones you call ugly. With the right paint scheme, the body still looks dang good in my humble opinion.
