Perhaps someone can post a picture as I am not near my cars right now... the way I was taught was to wrap the antenna around your thumb to make a coil. Then you squash the coil and put shrink wrap over the whole package. Heat the shrinkwrap just enough so that the shape is maintained. Then your antenna is only about an inch long and it is easily hidden within the vehicle.

I’ve never lacked signal. I suppose it is because we are at such short distances. Also, 2.4 Ghz signal is much less fragile than fm or am.
Several recievers have built in antennae. On one of my cars I have the Sanwa rX482...a commonly used receiver with a built in antenna.
The transponders weigh about as much as their wires...maybe a penny plus a penny.
