in order to build up a second 1/12th scale car with minimum expenditure, I used an old Tekin speedo that I had laying around. A friend loaded the newest Tekin firmware into it via my Hotwire and then I used a voltage booster to ensure that the radio gear would work solidly. That combo worked just fine. I honestly couldn’t feel any significant difference between my old (but software updated) Tekin and the relatively new 1-cell specific Stockspec Hobbywing that I have in my primary car.
