I figure Fyrstormer and Nubs have never owned a TB03/04 or variant of.

Of course I grease the gears, minimise the friction to reduce heat.
And I really wouldn't mind if the point of failure was somewhere else - the TB03 gearboxs are such an integral part of the structure of the chassis, once you start having to dive in to the gearbox because there's a noise and potential a gear is stripped, you're going to be setting that thing up from step 1, not to mention every time the crown and pinon gears need to get change, you have to go through the process of checking the mesh and shimming accordingly
