Our regional series has changed the rules for the next season from Modified open motor/esc to open motor/blinky. Currently using a 4.0t Reedy M1 motor 20 degrees timing mid-30mm rollout with some Andy Moore settings he used a bunch of years back when he almost won the 12th scale worlds. Car super fast and I take about 6600 mah out of my 7800mah battery. HW V3.1 speedo comes off 180 degrees and motor comes off 140 degrees.
This weekend I have another race coming up but want to test this in blinky mode. Is it possible with 4.0t motor? Some club mates have told me that 6.5 is the lowest blinky you can go to get not only the speed down the straight and not dump the battery.
Please advise.

I ran a Reedy M3 4.0 several times this year in blinky. 28/87 gearing with a 40.5 tire. 30 degrees of timing. HW 3.1 at punch 15 in linear throttle. Generally pulled around 5500 out. Speedo ~130 and motor ~105. Now granted, I haven't run a ton of mod and have a ways to go to get up to speed but I never got even close to over temp the speedo or dumping.
