You've been researching this car for months already my friend. Just get it and get over it lol.
Play is not really significant anywhere. Some slop on steering rack just like any other car. Since 4x uses pivot balls in uprights, if you don't tighten the nylon screws to fixate the balls well, there will be play there. Pillow balls and ball joints are pretty tight fit that you may have to pinch the joints or burn with lighter a bit in some of them.
