The hybrid bulks and 1/8 buggy diffs are actually very good. The I had a custom e-maxx that I soild in parts because I wanted to test something new. It was a problematic truck but onec upgraded nothing broke and it was very durable.
What I would like to do before I sold it was getting real 1/8 buggy shocks and also move the center diff mount towards the rear to prevent it being so front heavy (I had RCM chassis and 35mm extension) but I never came that far. I belive, if I would do that it would become a very good truck both for bashing and jumping.
The savage XL is better in stock form than the e-maxx but it also suffers from some issues that never will be solved because of the outdated design on both stock and aftermarked parts.
