A little background if I may. After many years of dirt oval and off road I came over to the dark side of on road last winter. By the May-ish timeframe that I posted this, I was about four months into on road and was having a great time with my F1 and GT-R. Also at this time my wife won a trip to Jamaica WITHOUT KIDS. So, with no one to chase around and keep from drowning along with a certain quantity of Red Stripe my foggy mind wandered to 1/12th scale and why they don’t run rubber tires....so I brought it up.
Holy Hell, I had no clue I had suggested the end of western civilization as we know it. People were at my house with pitchforks, my family was forced to enter the witness protection program and the RC Gods thundered down upon me with great fury (I haven’t won a race since that post).
Fast forward to now, as of two weeks ago I actually own a 1/12th scale car and have raced it (and I use the term “raced” very loosely)a couple of times....ON FOAM TIRES!!!! As it turns out, it’s actually fun...although I am not yet a huge fan of truing tires it’s really not too bad and is worth the kick of driving the car.
In summary, I am sincerely sorry for the stress that I have caused you guys, please know that it was not intentional. I have done my best to let this thread die but apparently this is my souvenir from a drunken week in Jamaica....I guess I could have come home with worse.
You should try foams and proper ride height on your WGT-R. They are a blast when they turn and actually look like they are glued to the track versus leaned over pogo-sticking around on balloon tires.
