Ok gotcha. It looked like a process to get done. Hard to say if you can measure any level of improvement.

Too bad this is a weak spot in the d216. I guess it was more oriented for dirt though. Carpet is pretty stressful on any car and this transmission just wasn't prepared for such a high bite surface.

So far with the aluminum idler gear in place, I haven't had any wear on my diff gear. I did use some white lithium grease to reduce friction on the diff gear but it's hard to say if that is even helping. Figured it can't hurt.
