That is part of the problem in racing now...too many classes. It is terribly diluting the classes and really makes things difficult for race organizers.

Before the HPI super F1 HPI made F102, and F103 option parts.

But Foam F1 has persisted, just look at Europe and Japan where it is still run.
For a lot of people it was cars like those that ruined F1. Sure they made getting rims/tires a lot easier but they ruined the scale aspect of F1. But then again so did the regular F1 tires when they wore down too far. These latest rubber tires helped to bring a resurgence in F1 with their more scale appearance. That said...I really like the way the rubber tires look on the F1 cars...but I very dislike the way they drive. For F1 I'm willing to accept that because of the nature of the class. For 1/12th I'm not. If they could come up with a rubber tire that actually works well that would change things.
