I got a good deal on a lightly used SMT10. The screws came out of the lockout in the trans which is common on them and have put a few parts into it already, JConcepts tires and wheels, new body and a castle 3800KV motor. I just stripped out the trans gears and found a TLR aluminum aluminum idler fits, as does an AE diff gear from a RC10GT(2?).
But either way, it is an absolute blast to drive. So much fun. It is NOT like a truggy at all. Truggies are performance, this is a basher. I do plan on trying out some monster truck racing, maybe even starting a local event.
