There are no draw backs. Buying the best batteries you can buy is applicable in all classes. Necessary no, but if you can afford it go for it. If you feel the car is a bit to uncontrollable, then reduce the punch in the esc or slow the throttle speed down. Personally I have always tried to buy the best batteries when I need them. But have found older batteries with a lot of cycles makes the car easier to drive as they have less punch.
