Jeff, in short you are changing the camber gain. Put all the shims above the eyelet = least camber gain. Shims below the eyelet = most camber gain. You can use this adjustment to improve/reduce your steering. Typically stock cars are going to have more camber gain then modified cars. Stock needs to be aggressive and mod needs to be smoothed out.
