The system is optically-based and is therefore incompatible with AMB/MYLAPS systems. Its advantage is that it is a lot cheaper (less than half the cost). You mount it under a clear section of the car/truck body (e.g., the windshield) so it has line-of-sight to the sensors that are mounted on a low gantry over the start/finish line.
