Try it out yourself. Loosen your pod center pivot, put a decent amount of shims (go a little extreme so you can actually see what is happening) under the front ball studs for the side links. Tighten your center pivot back up. Watch what happens to the pod in relation to the main chassis as you rotate the pod. The links are effectively longest when the front and rear balls on one side are on the same horizontal plane. Hope that makes sense.
I don't see too many people running rear steer in 1/12th any more. I'm running it on the WGT.
