To be honest, no I do not think that there will be major difference, only small differences can be obtained today. Since the VSR02 has some modifications made to the crankshaft and combustion chamber there will be better power in the bottom and mid-range normally
Mileage should be about the same but this depends also a lot on your way of driving.
