Hi, ok to put this thread live again?
I got myself this. I've been running with lipos and the ball bearing version of the stock motor. It took a while to get this running perfectly but finally it is and what a really fun bike! (have no previous experience on bikes).
I'm waiting for the hobbywing 5200kv brushless and will also put lights on it. A couple of photos below.
Some build tips:
1) make the servo saver one pice. I removed the spring and inserted some bearings inside. This prevents the steering flex/wobble and driving is much easier.
2) side supports up position, smaller turning radius
3) option kyosho rear oil shock; changed the spring into a smaller dia and slightly lighter tension
4) steering end points; if the bike falls when turning put take out some turning adjusting the end points. Then the bikes turns nicely when slowing down on the gas.
Really fun toy bike. Can't wait to get more speed. Really realistic with the driver moving from side to side and turning his head
