The cheaper 998s on ebay are 2016 cars, the 2017 is the one you want or wait for the upcoming td1r.
The current version of the car is very durable, with the exception of slightly quick wearing outdrives not much is needed for spares. I have yet to use any of my spares.
Granted they sponsor me so im going to have a postive bias but i will say I wanted to run the car before even applying for the team.
The kit doesnt come with wheels or servo horns and the throttle requires a low profile horn such as an mbx7 horn. .
Ya, I'm seeing plenty of them up for sale now, new & used, 2015-2017 models just all of a sudden it seems like.
There's a seller in Germany has them for around 300 shipped and it's been in my watch list for a few months now because I've already been thinking about it for a while now but I don't want to pay too much for something I might not be able to get parts for. THere's planty of other things I could spend that kind of cash on. I just today ordered another new Lutz Worlds ed as a spare for one of my Mugens.
I own 5 OFNAs, a TTR EB4-S3, and a TD DNX8 so the last thing I want is another basket case where finding parts is like winning the lottery. Fortunately, I have quite a stock on parts for all those cars and again, 300 could snag quite a few of the remaining parts out there for those.
