By far the most common set screw size for pinions is 1/8 inch with a 4-40 pitch using a 1/16th allen wrench.

Not including metric 48p pinions (most often used by Tamiya) Some do use a metric set screw (Traxxas) that use a 1.5mm allen wrench..
