I'm not familiar with the mmx so it just concerned me about the waterproof thing. There has to be a plug in location that goes to the sensor board if u want to run the sensor wire so that is a spot that water can get in (whether u are using the sensor wire or not). But I could be wrong. Maybe the mmx is different than the other esc's I've used that are sensored. I guess I will have to research that a bit more. Or just go with the mm2 and be on the safe side. Anybody know if there is a difference between the mm2 and mmx (other than the sensored option) that makes the mmx a better esc?
If you're going to run in sensorless mode, then the MMX is completely waterproof. The sensor port has a plug to cover it when not in use if I am not mistaken. It's only when you decide to use the sensor wire that it becomes "water resistant" instead of "waterproof".
That said, don't waste your money on an MM2. The MMX can do everything and can do it better. If you're fine running sensorless then just get the MMX combo and avoid plugging in the sensor wire
