Default Hitec X2 Repair and Hack

I Loved my X2 until the 4mm connectors pushed in to the charger. I opened it up to see the mounting posts had split and the tiny screws holding down were bouncing around in the charger. All they had to do was put longer screws in, the part was cast with holes all the way to the bottom of the case. While I was in there I disconnected the way too loud Beeper thingy. I confirmed the location of the audio with the highly scientific finger method . I'm sure Hitec would not recommend what I did here, It worked great for me. Hopefully this can help someone else.

How I did it

Remove the 5 screws from the bottom of the charger.
Gently pry between the red and black case to open it up watch for the clips that snap the case together.
Unplug the 2 gray wires that plug into the LCD board
You can gain working room by unscrewing the 6 screws holding the LCD to the top case.
I was lucky and found the 2 broken plastic pieces for the posts that the 4mm connectors mount to
Super glued the crap out of Plastic pieces back on the posts them and let them dry
Drilled out with a #38 drill ( I started with a #39 but it was too tight)
I ran a 3mm screw through the first post and cracked the piece off again, reglued and redrillled (#38 this time both posts ).
I ran a 3mm screw through both posts to get some threads going, I went nice and easy back and forth, got some threads established
Drilled out the board with the 4mm connectors for the 3mm screws
I put a coulple of dabs of shoe goo on the posts and ran 3x15mm screws in and snugged them down.
Reassemble, watch out for the wires in the front, it's a tight fit.
